In 2008, I began thinking about trying yoga. In 2012, I finally began practicing. Why did I wait?!? I immediately fell in yoga love! I often tell people that learning how to breathe changed my life. It’s so true – breathing has turned my maybes to musts and has revealed that potential truly is unlimited.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach because I get to witness how the powerful practice of yoga works on students at any stage of their journey. I believe that YOGA is an acronym for Your Own Growth and Awareness, and I love how the more I practice, the more I like the improved version of myself.
My favorite yoga pose is tree and don’t be surprised if you see me standing that way in the grocery line. Sometimes I have to fight the urge not to strike a warrior II pose when in public. My least favorite pose is frog, although my hips keep telling me I need to embrace frog much more often. But, I never attempt frog while in public. And the entire KC metro area thanks me.
When I’m not standing in tree or encouraging others to grow their branches, I enjoy traveling, reading, exploring the foodie scene, learning about wine, and watching my two sons grow taller than me.
